Choice of Ink – Higgins eternal, walnut ink, sumi, what you like in your dip pen.
Speedball nibs: C-0, C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4 with staffs or Pilot Parallel pens in various sizes. Be adventurous & practice with several nibs (even pointed!).
Ruler, sharp H or H2 pencil, eraser, glue stick, X-Acto knife with sharp blade, small cutting board, and paper towels.
Optional items: good grid paper (8 or 10 square), Pigma micron pen or fine point marker, compass, small light box (for use in project).

General Workshop Supplies
NOTE: This is a ʻsuggestedʼ basic list of supplies you will need in most KALIGRAFOS workshops.
Each workshop will also publish a specific supply list per the individual instructor.
- Notebook and pen for note taking
- Pen holders (for pointed & broad edge nibs)
- Pen rest (for anchoring pen when not in use)
- Various nibs
- Pencils (soft leaded)
- Eraser
- Ruler -18” or longer - metal cork-backed is best
- Gouache/ink of your preference
- Gum Arabic (for use in mixing gouache)
- Small mixing pan (6 well plastic); Mixing brush, distilled water w/dropper
- Water container for cleaning brushes, etc
- Paper towels
- Masking tape (blue artist tape; removable tape)
- 11x17 calligraphy grid pad
- Scissors/Xacto knife
- Cushion to sit on
- Apron
- Small plastic bag for paper scraps & trash
