For 2020, I had signed up for the once a month Cora Pearl year-long ‘Principles of Design’ study through TXLAC. Cora flew in from Portland for the first two months and then we all learned to use Zoom to be able to show our homework on screen to all the class participants. Cora emailed additional assignments throughout each month to insure we had plenty of homework to help us stretch our artistic wings. TXLAC (Angie Vangalis) hosts our 14+ person study group on Zoom every Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday evening also. Having this face to face communication and idea sharing has been amazing fun, plus so many friends from other Guilds. What a great experience!
But after a couple of weeks of ‘quarantine’ vacation, I decided that now is the time I should make a list of all the nagging chores I did not like doing so that my time was put to its best use. I rearranged closets, polished patio furniture, tons of work in the garden, yuck! cleaned the garage and so far I have completed about 40 other chores. We all have these lists nagging in our heads if not on a paper list! But as I worked, suddenly ideas for future projects began coming to me and I couldn’t wait to get notes and sketches on paper. Hopefully, I will have lots to share and show for our next Kaligrafos meeting.
I hope you are all well, happy and safe. I miss all of you and am glad to see the Kaligrafos membership renewal checks rolling in to my mailbox for the 2020-2021 year. We will pick up where we left off and have a great time being together again soon.
